Respect Life Ministry

The Respect Life Ministry is dedicated to defending the sacredness of human life from conception to natural death. We focus on education of life issues, prayerful intercession and community awareness. We meet on the 3rd Friday of each month at 7pm in Hammer Parish Center. We also join for Mass on the 4th Sunday at 10AM.

In 1993, Father Thomas Haren asked a group of parishioners to attend the National Right to Life March in Washington, D.C. The following year, Fr. Haren started the Respect for Life group at St. Jerome Parish. The Respect Life group has played an active role in the Parish since then. They have raised funds to attend the National Right to Life March every year from 1994-2020. Members (and the group as a whole) have helped with numerous organizations/people, some include: BirthRight of Cleveland, Lake County Right to Life, students/families in need at the parish, “adopted” children from 3rd world countries.  The group has also done fundraisers for the March, and volunteer for other respect life needs, some of those include Kids Bingo, Chinese Auctions, Trunk or Treat, passing out prayer cards to mothers and fathers for Mothers Day and Fathers Day. Members have volunteered around the community at the Cleveland AirShow, the Cleveland Food Bank, Cluster Masses during the Lenten season.

We are always looking for new members, If anyone is interested in joining, please contact the rectory.

Holy Name Society

St. Jerome Holy Name Society was started in 1931, the same year the Holy Name Society began in the Diocese of Cleveland.  We promote respect for the Holy Name of God.  We sponsor the Parish Picnic in June and the Clambake which is held near the Patronal Feast Day of St. Jerome on September 30.

We presently have 25 members which are predominantly men, but woman are always welcome.  We support our pastor in whatever ways he needs assistance from us.  We offer donations to parish projects and maintenance.  We also assist with jobs and decorations where help is needed.    In addition to prayer and reports at Holy Name meetings, fun fellowship is something we all look forward to.  Everyone is welcome to our monthly meetings, which are held at 7pm on the 1st Thursday of every month.  Please contact Jim Nugent for registration or further information.
